Thacker Expands Corrugated Converting Flexibility With 74-Inch and 115-Inch Folder Gluers

Thacker Industrial Service Company (TISCO) has highlighted its 74-inch and 115-inch TS Folder Gluers, designed to support the production of a broad range of corrugated box styles while helping manufacturers improve operational efficiency and product consistency.

The machines are engineered to process straight-line, double-side, lock-bottom, four-corner and six-corner box configurations, providing converters with greater flexibility to handle varied customer requirements on a single platform.

Both models feature synchronous belt drive systems, inverter-driven operation aimed at improving stability and reducing energy consumption, as well as electronic adjustment systems intended to simplify machine setup. Additional features include automatic continuous feeding, automatic counting and kicking functions, and adjustable conveyor pressure to support consistent finished box quality.

The folder gluers are designed to process cardboard grades ranging from 250 to 1,200 gsm, as well as E, C, B and AB flute corrugated board. The 74-inch model offers a maximum mechanical speed of 300 metres per minute, while the 115-inch version is capable of operating at speeds of up to 200 metres per minute.

According to Thacker, both machines incorporate independently driven sections to support accurate registration, folding and finishing operations. The 74-inch TS Folder Gluer includes a pre-fold section capable of third-crease pre-folding up to 135 degrees and an automatic belt tension-adjusting system in the trombone section to help maintain stable product transport and collection.

The larger 115-inch model features servo-driven pre-fold, lock-bottom, folding, trombone and back-folding sections, supporting accurate folding and faster setup across a variety of box formats. The machine is also designed to accommodate a wide range of box sizes for straight-line, bottom-lock, four-corner and six-corner applications.

Thacker said the two folder gluers combine broad style capability, controlled material handling and precise folding performance to help corrugated packaging manufacturers increase throughput while maintaining product quality across diverse converting requirements.
