Sealed Air Launches ZeroPrep Pouch and VFFS System for Foodservice Condiments

Sealed Air has launched a new pre-filled flexible pouch and vertical form-fill-seal system for sauces and condiments used in foodservice operations.

The CRYOVAC ZeroPrep pouch is designed as an alternative to filling and cleaning reusable squeeze bottles in restaurant back-of-house operations.

Each pouch incorporates an easy-open seal and a semi-rigid dispensing spout that reseals when it is not being used. The package is hermetically sealed before opening, removing the need for staff to transfer sauce or condiment from a bulk container into a separate dispensing bottle.

The pouches are produced on a new CRYOVAC ZeroPrep vertical form-fill-seal system using two specialised films to form the pouch body, spout and hermetic seals.

The machine can produce packs ranging from 8 to 16 fluid ounces at speeds of up to 80 packs per minute, according to Sealed Air.

The company also claims product yields of up to 97%, with the packaging designed to allow operators to dispense a high proportion of the contents.

“ZeroPrep reflects this ongoing commitment by removing the tedious task of squeeze bottle prep and cleaning,” said Joe Lambert, Sealed Air’s North America vice-president of food.

The system is aimed particularly at restaurant and foodservice operators looking to reduce manual preparation, simplify condiment storage and limit handling between the original package and point of use.

Unlike a standalone packaging-material launch, ZeroPrep combines the consumable flexible pack with dedicated forming and filling equipment, giving processors a complete production system for the format.

Sealed Air will display both the ZeroPrep pouches and the VFFS equipment at PACK EXPO International, taking place at McCormick Place in Chicago from 18 to 21 October 2026.
