Adapa Expands European Capabilities With New Extrusion and Printing Investments

Adapa Group is advancing its strategic growth plan with a new round of technology investments across its European facilities, reinforcing its position as a leading partner for flexible packaging solutions.

At its Kempten site in Germany, Adapa has commissioned two new shrink film extrusion lines supplied by Macro Engineering. The move significantly expands production capacity for EVOH-based Designed for Recycling shrink films, including the company’s award-winning VACUshrink(re) MEX 55 — a PE-based shrink bag manufactured without cross-linking that won the WorldStar Packaging Award in 2022. One line is already operating at full capacity, with the second scheduled to begin production in January 2026.

Further strengthening its printing capabilities, Adapa has also installed two new presses — one flexographic and one rotogravure — from Uteco. The new systems enable printing in up to nine colours with full-width 100% visual inspection and flexibility for both reverse and surface printing. They also support advanced finishing options, such as special lacquers and coatings, including on paper substrates.

As part of a wider modernization effort, Adapa is upgrading its converting capacity as well, adding new slitter machines at its plants in Poland and the Netherlands.

“We are continuously investing in the modernization of our assets to ensure that we can offer our customers innovative, high-performing and Designed for Recycling packaging solutions. Our strategy is to build long-term partnerships based on robust technological capabilities,” said Alena Maran, Head of Strategy and Marketing at Adapa Group. “Such investments strengthen our ability to support customers reliably in the future and to open new opportunities for cooperation.”

The latest wave of investments underscores Adapa’s commitment to combining technical excellence with sustainable innovation and customer-oriented production. By expanding its technological base across multiple European sites, the company aims to further enhance its role as a trusted supplier to the food, tobacco, home and personal care, and healthcare industries.
