Milliken Targets Efficiency And Recyclability With New Polymer Technologies At Interpack 2026

Milliken & Company will use Interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf to showcase a new set of polymer additive technologies aimed at helping packaging producers improve efficiency, increase design flexibility and develop lighter-weight, more recyclable structures.

The company said it would present the innovations at the trade fair, which runs from May 7 to 13, and take part in Spotlight Forum sessions on May 11 and 12, where its specialists will discuss packaging projects developed with brand owners and converters.

“The future of packaging depends on how well materials and processes work together,” said Wim Van De Velde, executive vice president and managing director of Milliken’s plastic additives business. “At Interpack, we’re highlighting technologies developed to help our customers improve performance while enabling lighter-weight and more recyclable packaging designs.”

Milliken said its Interpack line-up would focus on food-contact compliant products spanning polypropylene, polyethylene and PET applications.

Among the products on show is Millad ClearX 9000, a new clarifier for polypropylene that the company said is suited to food packaging, home storage and medical uses. Milliken said the additive is designed to deliver high transparency at lower loading levels, while improving additive compatibility to reduce downtime, cut waste and speed up changeovers in production.

The company will also highlight LeneX UGN-52, a barrier improvement technology for HDPE and LLDPE films, containers and pharmaceutical bottles. According to Milliken, the product supports downgauging to reduce material use and part weight, while improving barrier performance in polyethylene and enabling more mono-material designs that are better aligned with recycling requirements.

A further product, Hyperform HPN, is being positioned as a way to improve polypropylene performance in injection moulding and thin-wall applications. Milliken said the nucleating agents can deliver faster cycle times, improved optical clarity and lower haze, while also supporting isotropic shrinkage across homopolymer, impact and block copolymer PP.

The group is also set to feature ClearShield, its UV absorber technology for PET packaging, which is designed to protect contents from ultraviolet exposure without compromising clarity.

Milliken said its broader additives portfolio, which includes clarifiers, colorants and concentrates, is intended to address current packaging industry demands around performance, resource efficiency and recyclability. The company will exhibit at booth C18 in Hall 10.
