Tosca Launches Reusable Retail Display System to Replace Single-Use Cardboard

Tosca has introduced Crystal Clear, a reusable display system designed to offer fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands and retailers a scalable alternative to single-use cardboard promotional units.

The launch comes as suppliers and retailers prepare for the EU’s forthcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which prioritises reuse and will impose stricter obligations on companies for packaging waste management under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

The clear plastic displays, which can be rented, purchased or integrated into Tosca’s pooling network, are marketed as a durable and sustainable option that combines compliance with commercial benefits. According to the company, switching to these displays can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 70% compared with single-use systems.

“In today’s retail landscape, with mounting pressure from regulators, retailers and consumers, sustainability has become a core business driver,” said Laurent Le Mercier, President, Tosca EMEA. “With PPWR and EPR putting reuse at the centre of the packaging conversation, the time for sustainable retail transformation on the sales floor is now. Tosca’s reusable displays can help major brands transform their POS campaigns, streamline their supply chains, eliminate packaging waste, achieve cost savings, and meet packaging regulations with confidence.”

The Crystal Clear system is built from durable, hygienic plastic and features modular construction that allows for both standardised efficiency and brand-specific customisation. Designed for heavy loads of up to 36 kg per shelf, the displays support a wide range of products including beverages and other bulky items.

Tosca positions the solution as a way for brands to boost in-store visibility while simplifying campaign execution and reducing backroom waste. The clear panels are intended to highlight products directly, while also offering retailers space for customised promotional messaging.

The company, which operates a Europe-wide pooling network, said its in-house R&D team continues to refine the display design, with options for IoT-enabled tracking to optimise utilisation and logistics performance.

Reusable display systems are increasingly being positioned as part of retail’s response to regulatory, cost and environmental pressures. Tosca, formed through the merger of three specialist companies, claims to have the industry’s most extensive portfolio of reusable load carriers for point-of-sale.
