Presto Products Company’s Fresh-Lock® brand has unveiled two new slider innovations designed to meet rising demands for safety, accessibility, and sustainability in flexible packaging across pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, pet care, e-commerce and other markets.
The Fresh-Lock® Ergo Ultra slider combines a contoured, easy-grip design with a polyethylene track, aiming to improve consumer accessibility while supporting mono-material pouch solutions. Made entirely from recyclable materials, Ergo Ultra qualifies as a pouch component under the How2Recycle Store Drop-Off program and reduces material usage through its smaller, low-profile format.
Alongside this, the company has introduced the Child-Guard® Edge slider system, which delivers child-resistant functionality to small-format pouches. Previous child-resistant slider systems were limited to larger pouch sizes due to track and opening-width requirements. Child-Guard® Edge addresses this gap, offering a reduced-scale track and slider suited for smaller packages while maintaining durability, reclosability and safety standards.
Todd Meussling, Director of Business Development and Sustainability at Fresh-Lock®, said: “The Fresh-Lock team is dedicated to driving innovation and advancing sustainability across the flexible packaging industry. No matter the market, if you have a product that needs reclosable packaging, we want to give you closure options that perform. That’s why we’re excited to bring Ergo Ultra and Child-Guard® Edge to select pouch converters and the broader marketplace.”
Meussling added that Ergo Ultra improves accessibility while delivering sustainability benefits, whereas Child-Guard® Edge “enables small-format, child-resistant pouches—unlocking new opportunities for brands to leverage the advantages of flexible packaging.”
Both solutions are part of the Fresh-Lock® 8000 Series, a growing portfolio of closures developed to address sustainability and regulatory needs across packaging applications.
