Returnity Targets B2B Shippers as Corrugated Cost Pressure Builds

Returnity is offering qualified B2B shippers a no-cost pilot programme for reusable packaging systems, positioning the initiative as a response to renewed cost pressure in corrugated packaging.

The New York-based reusable packaging company said the programme is aimed at businesses operating repeatable distribution and replenishment flows in North America. Eligible companies that begin a pilot within 30 days and move to broader deployment within 60 days after completion will qualify for preferred reusable box leasing terms.

The offer is designed for shipping environments where reuse can be integrated into existing logistics workflows, rather than as a blanket replacement for corrugated packaging. Returnity said the focus is on closed-loop B2B operations such as retailer replenishment, internal facility transfers and reverse logistics programmes.

“Corrugated pricing volatility continues to create operational and financial pressure,” said Mike Newman, CEO of Returnity. “Reusable packaging is a straightforward solution for many of the shipping patterns that already exist within retailers’ day-to-day operations. Switching to Returnity’s cost controlled reusables allows retailers to lock in savings, insulates them from pricing volatility, and gives them one fewer headache to worry about.”

Returnity said the initiative builds on its existing work with reusable shipping systems for closed-loop B2B operations, including workflows developed for FedEx B2B shipping environments. The company said previous pilots and deployments have supported distribution and replenishment programmes across North America.

According to the company, participating shippers have reported operational benefits including faster unpacking, reduced disposal labour, improved backroom organisation and lower product damage rates. Returnity said its model is intended to reduce dependency on ongoing single-use box purchases in lanes where reusable systems can operate practically within established distribution networks.

“Returnity has proven that reusable packaging is a valuable component of modern retail operations,” Newman added. “Companies leverage our product and system expertise to cut costs and improve operational efficiency and supply chain consistency.”

The free pilot programme is available for a limited time to eligible B2B shippers in North America. Returnity said companies interested in evaluating reusable packaging can schedule a pilot assessment through its website.
