SupplyOne Adds Specialty Packaging To Grow New England Presence

SupplyOne has expanded its presence in the northeastern United States with the acquisition of Specialty Packaging, a packaging solutions distributor based in East Hartford, Connecticut.

The deal strengthens SupplyOne’s position in New England and adds further scale in food packaging, equipment and distribution, areas the company has identified as strategic priorities. Specialty Packaging, founded in 2012 by Chris Orsini and Keith Streib, will continue to be led by its founders following the transaction, with the aim of preserving continuity for customers and employees.

Specialty Packaging has built its business around a broad portfolio of packaging products and services, including films, trays, bags and corrugated containers for food applications. The company also supplies protective packaging materials, packaging equipment and related services, alongside design, warehousing and logistics support.

One of the company’s more distinctive offerings is SteamRight, a proprietary microwavable packaging solution developed to enable frozen food products to steam directly inside the package. That capability adds a differentiated food packaging component to SupplyOne’s wider distribution and converting portfolio.

Todd Renehan, President and CEO of SupplyOne, said the acquisition strengthens the group’s regional reach while adding capabilities aligned with its broader growth plans. “The addition of Specialty Packaging strengthens our presence in New England while adding meaningful capabilities in packaging distribution, food packaging and equipment—two key strategic priorities for SupplyOne,” he said.

Renehan added that Specialty Packaging brings both market credibility and a strong customer-focused culture. “Chris and Keith have built an organization with a strong customer focus and an excellent reputation in the marketplace. We are excited to welcome their team into SupplyOne and build on their success through our national platform, expanded resources, and an even broader packaging portfolio.”

For Specialty Packaging, the transaction gives the business access to a broader platform while keeping its existing leadership in place. Chris Orsini, Managing Partner of Specialty Packaging, said joining SupplyOne would allow the company to extend its offer without losing the qualities that helped build the business. “Joining SupplyOne is an exciting next chapter for our team and our customers,” he said. “SupplyOne’s scale, operational strength, and commitment to service excellence will allow us to enhance our breadth of offerings to customers while maintaining the culture and responsiveness that have defined Specialty Packaging since its founding.”

Keith Streib, Managing Partner, said the move would also create wider opportunities for customers and staff. “Becoming part of SupplyOne opens the door to new capabilities, broader product access, and long-term growth opportunities for our customers and employees. We’re proud to join an organization that shares our values and vision for the future of packaging solutions.”

The acquisition is SupplyOne’s 47th to date and further extends the company’s geographic footprint across North America. The business operates as a packaging distributor with custom converting capabilities spanning corrugated, foam, wood and plastics, and runs more than 60 locations across the United States and Canada.

The latest deal underlines continued consolidation in the North American packaging distribution market, particularly in segments that combine materials supply with design, equipment and logistics services.
