Antalis Packaging has expanded its range of packaging equipment with the introduction of the Pregis AirSpeed® Ascent, Pregis’ highest-performing air cushioning system. Designed to deliver superior product protection and a better customer experience, the AirSpeed® Ascent is set to revolutionize packaging operations.
Capable of producing up to 23 metres of cushioning per minute, the AirSpeed® Ascent is not only fast but also highly efficient. Its user-friendly interface and smart logic system automatically recognize and adjust settings when a new film roll is loaded, reducing the risk of human error and ensuring optimal performance.
One of the standout features of the AirSpeed® Ascent is its low-maintenance design. With no wearable parts, downtime and servicing requirements are minimized. Additionally, the system’s sleep-wake mode conserves energy during periods of inactivity, making it an eco-friendly option for businesses.
The system produces hybrid cushioning (HC) with a unique square pattern, offering a larger surface area compared to traditional circular cushions. This design provides enhanced product protection and reduces the amount of space required for storage—one pallet of HC cushions is equivalent to nearly one and a half truckloads of standard bubble film.
Two types of film are available for use with the AirSpeed® Ascent, both of which are 100% recyclable. Pregis Ascent HC film, made from polyethylene, is ideal for heavier or fragile items, offering superior air retention for products with longer shipping cycles. Pregis Ascent HC Renew, which contains 30% post-consumer recycled content and is exempt from the Plastic Packaging Tax, is grey in color and free of artificial colors or hazardous ingredients.
