Amcor has launched its latest packaging innovation, the Clear-Tite 40 shrink bag, designed specifically for fresh and processed meat. This new solution reduces plastic usage by 19% compared to standard 50µ shrink bags, making it the company’s thinnest-ever shrink bag at just 40µ thick.
The Clear-Tite 40 allows consumers to easily view the product inside, offering high visual appeal at the point of purchase. Despite the thinner material, the shrink bag maintains product freshness and is fully printable, aligning with Amcor’s commitment to providing visually attractive packaging.
“In this fast-changing market, Amcor remains a dependable packaging partner,” said Robert Kleinschmidt, VP of Amcor’s meat business unit. “Our technical expertise, sustainability focus, and operational capabilities ensure that we help customers meet their sustainability targets with the best packaging solutions.”
Amcor highlighted that the lighter weight of the Clear-Tite 40 also presents an opportunity for manufacturers and brands to lower their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees, further contributing to sustainability efforts.
Rosalia Rosalinova, senior marketing manager at Amcor, described the launch as a significant advancement in sustainable packaging. “Shrink bags have always been challenging to make more sustainable due to their technical requirements. Clear-Tite 40 marks a major breakthrough, reducing the amount of plastic used per bag while preserving the product’s shelf-life.”
This new shrink bag solution offers the meat packaging industry an effective way to balance sustainability and performance without compromising product quality.
