Heat and Control, a leading innovator in food processing and packaging solutions, is set to release a series of new technologies at PACKEXPO International 2024. These innovations aim to address environmental sustainability and operational efficiency, particularly in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. Additionally, CEIA, a long-term partner of Heat and Control, is introducing advanced metal detection systems to enhance pharmaceutical inspection.
Food Processing Technologies for Sustainability
Heat and Control will showcase several solutions designed to support environmental goals. Among the most anticipated releases is the Cascade Water Recirculation system, aimed at significantly reducing water consumption in food processing. According to the company, the new design can help processors, particularly in the potato chip and French fry industries, reduce fresh water use by up to 75%. This is achieved through the integration of two new modules: the Slice Wash Support Module (SWSM) and the Process Recirculation Support Module (PRSM).
The focus on sustainability is echoed in their Symphony seasoning systems, which reduce airborne dust and seasoning waste. The FastBack Symphony On-Machine Seasoning System and the Spray Dynamics Symphony In-Kitchen Seasoning System are designed to improve operator safety by capturing fugitive seasoning particles, ensuring they are applied more efficiently to products. “This system not only improves the working environment but also minimizes waste, ensuring seasoning ingredients are effectively applied to the product,” said a company spokesperson.
Further advancing their horizontal motion conveying technology, Heat and Control will debut the FastBack 4.0 (250) model. This new addition offers mid-range capacity, providing flexibility for a variety of applications. Alongside it, the Revolution Proportional Gate 3.0, the latest in proportional feeding solutions, will also be revealed, continuing to enhance sanitation, safety, and product handling.
Expanding Solutions for Pharmaceutical Inspection
In partnership with CEIA, Heat and Control will also highlight new advancements for the pharmaceutical industry. CEIA’s THS/PH210®-FFV valve system, specifically designed for pharmaceutical powder inspection, offers a high level of sanitation and performance. This system addresses challenges like cross-contamination and frequent equipment cleaning, which are common in pharmaceutical production. With a rotor design made from AISI 316L stainless steel and tool-free disassembly, the THS/PH210®-FFV promises operational efficiency and compliance with stringent hygiene standards.
CEIA is also introducing the THS/PH210 Series metal detectors, fully compliant with FDA regulations, ensuring data integrity and traceability for pharmaceutical manufacturers. These detectors feature a fully digital structure, continuous AUTOTEST functionality, and enhanced detection sensitivity. Designed to meet FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and FDA 21 CFR 210 compliance, they are equipped to ensure both product quality and regulatory adherence. “These systems set a new standard for pharmaceutical inspection, offering unmatched sensitivity and ease of use,” a CEIA representative stated.
Comprehensive Offerings at PACKEXPO 2024
In addition to individual product releases, Heat and Control, alongside partners Ishida and CEIA, will showcase a complete range of solutions for raw produce preparation, processing, conveying, weighing, packaging, inspection, and training at PACKEXPO International 2024. Visitors can expect live demonstrations, providing an opportunity to witness the technology in action and consult with industry experts.
With its continued focus on innovation and sustainability, Heat and Control aims to reshape both food and pharmaceutical production, providing cutting-edge solutions for improved efficiency and regulatory compliance.
