Ardagh Glass Packaging-Europe (AGP-Europe) has launched a lightweight 300g glass wine bottle, positioning it as a sustainable packaging solution for a wine industry under increasing environmental scrutiny.
The 75cl bottle, designed for still wines, combines reduced material use with robust structural performance and premium brand presentation. Available in green, flint and other glass colours, the new bottle is engineered to operate seamlessly on high-speed filling lines, withstand the rigours of supply chain handling, and retain the visual appeal associated with glass packaging.
“This is more than a lightweight bottle, it’s a complete packaging solution,” said Nick Witton, Sales Director at Ardagh Glass Packaging-UK. “We’ve developed a 300g bottle that also delivers the strength and premium look that brands and consumers demand.”
The development underscores AGP-Europe’s commitment to innovation in sustainable glass packaging design, addressing both the carbon footprint of glass production and the operational needs of wine producers.
