Duravant Answers Automation Demand In Latin America With Expo Pack Mexico Line-Up

Duravant will present a range of food processing and packaging technologies at Expo Pack Mexico 2026, as manufacturers in Latin America continue to face pressure from labour constraints, higher quality expectations and rising production demands.

The company said its operating companies Key Technology, Mespack, nVenia, PATTYN, PPM Technologies and Wulftec will exhibit at booth 2520 during the show, which takes place from June 2 to 5 at Expo Santa Fe in Mexico City.

The equipment on display will cover several stages of the production line, including optical sorting, coating, bag closing, case erection and stretch wrapping. The systems are aimed at manufacturers in food, personal and home care, pharmaceuticals and other sectors.

“Across Latin America, processors and packers are at a turning point. Labor is becoming harder to find and train, while at the same time quality requirements continue to rise. For many companies, changing from manual processes to fully- or semi-automated is intimidating but necessary,” said Oscar Ortega, Managing Director at Duravant Mexico.

“We work closely with customers to help them make that transition. We walk their factory floor, listen to understand their specific problems and deliver a solution that makes sense for them – with the right level of technology, a clear return on investment and local support in their own language, time zone and currency.”

Key Technology will show its COMPASS optical sorter, designed for processors of fruit, vegetables, snacks and other products requiring defect and foreign material removal. According to the company, the system combines multi-channel sensor data and multi-wavelength strobing to provide detection capabilities comparable to laser-based sorters, while avoiding mechanical scanning components.

PPM Technologies will present its FlavorWright SmartSpray coating system, which is intended for gummies, vitamins, supplements and confectionery products. The system automates coating by feeding product into a tumbling drum while an adjustable liquid applicator delivers controlled spray patterns.

nVenia will exhibit two Fischbein bag closing systems. The Fischbein 400 NS plain sew system closes pillow-style and gusseted bags, including multi-wall paper and woven polypropylene formats, while the Fischbein PBC 6000 pinch bag closer is designed to deliver sift-resistant seals on pinch-style paper bags.

PATTYN, which joined Duravant following its 2025 acquisition, will appear at the Duravant booth for the first time at Expo Pack Mexico. The company will showcase the CEFLEX-41, a machine combining case erecting and bag inserting. The system runs at up to 12 cases per minute in tape or hot-melt configuration and produces custom-made bags from a film reel.

Wulftec will display the SMART SMLPA-200 portable automated stretch wrapper, which is capable of wrapping up to 55 loads per hour. The system includes a 20-inch NO-THREAD powered pre-stretch carriage and a cut-and-wipe system intended to reduce manual film handling.

Duravant said visitors will be able to meet its regional team and see the equipment in person during the Mexico City event.
