CIRCPACK by Veolia has announced a strategic collaboration with SAP aimed at streamlining Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting and automating recyclability assessments for packaging. The new integration combines CIRCPACK’s data intelligence and recycling expertise with SAP’s sustainability-focused software to support global brands in meeting tightening packaging compliance standards.
The partnership connects CIRCPACK’s detailed EPR data—covering fee structures, calculation rules, and compliance schemes—with SAP Responsible Design and Production, SAP’s cloud-based sustainability platform. By merging these data sets, users can automatically generate customized, country-specific compliance reports directly within SAP systems.
CIRCPACK’s global scope enables coverage for more than 30 countries, with continuous updates as new EPR frameworks emerge. Through its Recycling Intelligence Platform, CIRCPACK already tracks developments across over 140 markets, offering a wide base of regulatory intelligence for packaging producers and brand owners operating internationally.
The company said it has identified a growing demand for cost-efficient, large-scale recyclability assessments as regulations evolve. Ensuring packaging can be classified as recyclable is increasingly crucial, as future non-compliance may result in financial penalties or loss of market access. CIRCPACK emphasized that its “position as a recycler first provides next-level intelligence to guide businesses that use SAP solutions on the right course of action.”
The collaboration integrates multiple critical elements—country-specific EPR fees, national calculation rules, eco-modulation schemes, and local recycling infrastructure—within a single system. This approach, aligned with the upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), aims to help companies not only mitigate compliance risks but also achieve measurable cost savings through improved design and data accuracy.
CIRCPACK, part of the Veolia Group, brings operational expertise across more than 50 markets where Veolia is active. The company combines theoretical and practical knowledge of recycling processes and serves as an accredited certifying body for RecyClass.
