Parcel delivery firm Evri has partnered with second-hand fashion marketplace Vinted to provide free reusable packaging at hundreds of ParcelShop locations across the UK, in a move aimed at encouraging circular solutions in e-commerce.
The eight-week trial begins with distribution at 100 shops and will expand to nearly 300 locations. The packaging, designed to fit a medium-sized Vinted parcel, features two adhesive strips to enable both buyers and sellers to reuse it.
The initiative follows Vinted Go’s four-year extension of its delivery partnership with Evri. It comes as Evri pursues what it calls a “significant investment” in its ParcelShop and locker network, with plans to double its reach to 25,000 locations by 2030.
Claire Phelan, head of e-commerce partnerships at Evri, said: “We’re thrilled to be the first UK delivery carrier to be able to support Vinted’s trial of reusable packaging. By stocking this at almost 300 of our Evri ParcelShops, it provides their army of sellers with an efficient and reusable solution by which to send their parcels. And, as we forecast issuing over 100,000 units of Vinted’s reusable packaging during the trial, its multi-use feature is fantastic, also giving buyers the opportunity to re-purpose.”
Vytautas Atkočaitis, vice president of Vinted Go, added: “At Vinted we are committed to doing all we can to make it even easier for our members to shop second-hand. By collaborating with selected carrier partners including Evri to provide free and reusable packaging, we hope to encourage our members to opt for packaging that is suitable for repeat use and fits the size of their items better.”
If successful, Evri says the programme could be extended to more ParcelShop locations across its network.
