Patrón Tequila has revealed a refreshed visual identity for its bottle and packaging, marking the first change to the brand’s presentation since its debut in 1989. The redesigned bottle and gift box are rolling out in global markets this autumn, across Patrón’s core range of Silver, Reposado, Añejo and Extra Añejo expressions.
The updated bottle maintains the bell-shaped silhouette that has become synonymous with the brand but introduces new visual elements inspired by the agave piña, the raw material at the heart of tequila production. These include an embossed glass pattern that enhances both aesthetics and grip, and a refined focus on the brand’s iconic bee emblem, now highlighted in a gold finish.
Patrón has also introduced an affixed neck collar with intricate filigree details, replacing the original ribbon. A statement of authenticity now appears on the side of the bottle, featuring the signature of Master Distiller David Rodriguez alongside the phrase, “Handcrafted with Agave, Water and Time.”
In addition, the brand said the redesign underscores its sustainability ambitions. The average weight of bottles across formats has been reduced by 8%, contributing to a lower carbon footprint.
“This moment represents more than a redesign – it’s a statement of brand leadership and everything that defines PATRÓN today,” said Roberto Ramirez, Global Senior VP for Patrón and Agaves. “Each detail of this new bottle and packaging has been crafted to help visually define PATRÓN and set our tequila apart on the shelf, the way our liquid does inside the bottle.”
The gift box has also been updated by design agency Butterfly Cannon, retaining Patrón’s signature colour palette while incorporating a new white debossed octagon and a QR code linking to cocktail recipes.
“For the first time in over three decades, we have engaged in a visual re-imagining of our iconic bottle and packaging that honors our icon while elevating it to represent the brand today and for the future,” said Samantha Newby, Global VP Patrón, Innovation & Sustainability. “Every aspect of this bold design evolution is an homage to our handcrafted Mexican heritage and the details that go into making our exceptional artisanal tequila.”
The redesign was developed in collaboration with creative partners Servaire & Co and Butterfly Cannon.
