Bradman Lake will showcase a line-up of compact, high-efficiency equipment at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) 2025, aiming to demonstrate how bakeries and food manufacturers can maximise throughput while reducing factory footprint.
The UK-headquartered packaging machinery specialist will present live demonstrations of its HS Mini Carton Former and Tray Erector in combination with the RA60 Right-Angle Carton Closer, described by the company as “one of the most compact and efficient top-load packaging lines in the industry.” The IB30 Hand Load Bagger, designed for semi-automated packaging, will also be on display.
According to Bradman Lake, the HS Mini Carton Former and Tray Erector offers forming speeds of up to 60 strokes per minute despite a footprint of just over 56 inches wide. The machine can handle a variety of carton styles and sizes, and will be configured at the show to lock-erect three-flap cartons for seamless transfer to the RA60.
The RA60 employs the company’s patented Flexible Carton Control (FCC) system, which uses soft rubber fingers to guide and close cartons, accommodating oversized or irregular shapes without damaging the packaging. The system incorporates Allen-Bradley controls, Nordson’s Pro-Blue Flex adhesive application, and ergonomic stainless-steel construction with an optional IP65 washdown rating for food and pharmaceutical applications.
For smaller-scale or artisan bakeries, the IB30 Hand Load Bagger provides a manual yet efficient bagging solution for products such as bread, rolls, and food items in trays. As the top bag is filled and removed, the next bag is automatically inflated and ready for use, reducing handling time.
Bradman Lake emphasises that its offering extends beyond standalone machinery to fully integrated, turnkey packaging systems. These can span the entire process from distribution and feeding to flow wrapping, cartoning, case packing, shrink wrapping and palletising. The company highlights unified control systems, consistent HMI design, and pre-shipment integration testing as measures to reduce installation time and streamline operation.
Founded in 1948, Bradman Lake serves bakery, confectionery, dry and frozen foods, consumer goods, and pharmaceutical sectors from manufacturing sites in the UK and the US. In 2022, it received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. The company is a subsidiary of Langley Holdings plc.
