Constantia Flexibles, a global leader in flexible packaging solutions, is set to showcase its latest innovations at FACHPACK 2024 in Nuremberg, Germany, from September 24-26, 2024. The company, renowned for its commitment to sustainability, will introduce a new digital printing technology and a series of environmentally-friendly packaging solutions at booth 4-302 in hall 4.
Digital Printing Innovation
One of the highlights of Constantia Flexibles’ presentation will be its pioneering digital printing technology for aluminum die-cut lids. This industry-first technology enables full-surface, water-based digital printing on aluminum without compromising sealing conditions. It also supports printing on PET and will soon extend to other substrates. The technology offers unprecedented speed, flexibility, and cost-efficiency by eliminating the need for printing clichés, plates, or cylinders.

Sustainability at the Forefront
Constantia Flexibles continues to push the envelope in sustainable packaging. The company’s Ecolutions range will be a key focus at FACHPACK, featuring products like Low Carbon Aluminum (Lowcarbalu), which significantly reduces the environmental impact of aluminum production. This material is used in various applications, such as the EcoPeelCover and EcoAluTainers, which will be highlighted at the event.
Product Innovations
Several new products will be showcased, demonstrating Constantia Flexibles’ leadership in creating sustainable packaging solutions:
EcoPeelCover: An award-winning, recyclable aluminum lid designed for dairy products, offering high barrier properties and a reduced environmental footprint. This product has already won the German Packaging Award 2024 in the sustainability category for its material efficiency.
PPCover: A mono-polypropylene lid that is metal-free, offering great opacity, puncture resistance, and improved heat resistance, making it ideal for dairy and non-carbonated beverages.
EcoTwistPaper: A recyclable, wax-free twist-wrap designed for the confectionery industry, scoring 90 out of 100 points in repulpability testing by the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI).
EcoPressoLid: A home compostable, biobased lid for coffee capsules, developed in collaboration with Greiner Packaging, that ensures product freshness while being environmentally friendly.
EcoAluTainer: A lightweight, recyclable aluminum container designed for both human and pet food, featuring ASI-certified aluminum and supporting a circular economy.
