Amcor and Insymmetry Unveil Retort Bottle with StormPanel Technology

Amcor, a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, has teamed up with Insymmetry® to introduce a groundbreaking 2oz retort bottle, leveraging Amcor Rigid Packaging’s (ARP) proprietary StormPanel™ technology. This innovative packaging solution meets the growing demand for durable, shelf-stable packaging for low-acid beverages such as coffee and dairy-based drinks.

The first product to utilize this technology is Stellify™, a beverage brand owned by Insymmetry®, which will feature its Dulce de Leche Energy and Espresso Energy wellness shots at Natural Products Expo West 2025.

The StormPanel™ bottle is engineered to withstand the high-pressure retort sterilization process, ensuring product integrity and market-ready aesthetics, offering manufacturers a reliable and scalable alternative to aseptic processing.

Greg Rosati, VP of Strategy and Marketing at Amcor Rigid Packaging, stated, “Our StormPanel™ innovative packaging enables beverage brands to elevate shelf-stable, low-acid products in a compact, ready-to-use bottle, addressing the evolving needs of the food and beverage industry.”

This packaging solution caters to the health-conscious consumer, offering a convenient option for on-the-go lifestyles. With a 12-month shelf life and no refrigeration required, it provides cost-effective and time-efficient production for manufacturers while ensuring product quality and performance.

“Amcor’s expertise in packaging innovation enabled us to develop a solution that meets our unique needs,” said Josh Cua, Chief Innovations Officer at Insymmetry®. “By leveraging their advanced manufacturing technology, we created a bottle that performs exceptionally in the retort environment while aligning with growing consumer demand for preservative-free nutritional shots.”

Amcor’s collaboration with Insymmetry® involved extensive use of finite element analysis (FEA) and virtual reality capabilities to streamline the design process. By optimizing a co-polymer resin and refining the molding system, the collaboration has created a scalable solution with rapid prototyping and accelerated commercialization timelines.
