Global packaging group TricorBraun has acquired glass packaging provider Glassland. The acquisition grows the German footprint of TricorBraun’s glass packaging business, Vetroelite, and will also broaden TricorBraun’s European presence.

Mondi has collaborated with Swedish dairy producer Skånemejerier to create a mono-material, polypropylene (PP) based packaging for Hushållsost cheese. The new packaging has a mono-material base web and lidding film which is produced and printed by Mondi before being converted for 1kg and 2kg blocks of cheese by Skånemejerier.

Supermarket chain Aldi has announced that it will no longer use plastic packaging for its own-label four-packs of beer and cider.
