With exactly one year to go until opening day, interpack 2026 is shaping up to be a “heavyweight event for the international packaging and processing sector,” according to organisers. Set to take place from May 7–13, 2026, at the Messe Düsseldorf exhibition grounds, the show is already fully booked, with “around 2,800 exhibitors from across the globe securing their spots.”
“interpack serves eight key industries – from food and pharmaceuticals to cosmetics and industrial goods – delivering tailored solutions and concentrated innovation,” the organisers state. The event will present the full range of “packaging materials and supplies, as well as machinery for labeling, marking, package production, and integrated packaging printing” in dedicated halls. The ‘components’ supplier trade fair will also expand, “occupying two halls for the first time.”
Key Themes Driving Industry Transformation
interpack 2026 will spotlight three core future themes:
- Smart Manufacturing: The show will highlight “resource-efficient, data-driven production powered by AI, robotics, automation, and intelligent control systems” designed to “make machinery smarter and processes more efficient.”
- Innovative Materials: More than 1,000 exhibitors are expected to showcase “cutting-edge packaging materials – from fiber-based alternatives and monomaterials to functional coatings – all aimed at sustainability, circularity, and reduced resource use.”
- Future Skills: Organisers underscore that “no transformation [is possible] without talent,” noting the industry’s current investment in “digital skills, youth development, and purpose-driven work.”
The show will again be enhanced by “dynamic formats that spotlight trends, spark discussions, and inspire fresh perspectives,” including the Spotlight Forum, Start-up Zone, Women in Packaging, and interpack TV.
Opportunities Still Available for Latecomers
Despite being officially booked out, opportunities for late exhibitor entries may still exist. “If you missed the cutoff, I strongly encourage you to reach out,” says Thomas Dohse, Director of interpack. “There’s still some flexibility in the floor plan. We review every inquiry individually and will do our best to accommodate.”
Save the Date: interpack 2026
With the countdown now on, organisers are urging participants to begin preparations. “Now’s the time to plan your visit or participation,” the team says.
